U.S. convenience stores make up more than one-third of all brick and mortar retailers and serve almost 165 million customers every day. Many consumers rely on their local convenience store for snacks and meals since they are often the only and/or closest location for fuel, food, and grocery items, particularly in smaller towns and rural areas. While convenience stores are an important destination for food and snacks, they also sell about 80% of U.S. motor fuel sales.
