The U.S. CBD/hemp industry was valued at $4.7 billion in 2020 and is projected to reach $17 billion in sales by 2025. Much of the industry’s growth is driven by an interest in the therapeutic benefits of hemp-sourced CBD, which include pain relief and stress management. CBD, or cannabidiol, can be sourced from either the hemp or marijuana plants, which are two varieties of the plant species Cannabis sativa.
