Bark Busters Home Dog Training - Franchise

Welcome to Bark Busters USA, part of the international dog training company founded over 25 years ago.
It was started in Australia in 1989 by our founders, Sylvia and Danny Wilson, with a mission to save dogs lives from unnecessary euthanasia and abandonment because of behavioral issues.

Owning a Bark Busters Home Dog Training franchise offers an amazing career opportunity for you to not only to be your own boss, make your own hours and control your future but you get to do it working with the most amazing beings on the planet - dogs!  You do this with the ongoing support of the Bark Busters Home Office team and 160-plus US Bark Busters trainers in the field, as well as 140 additional trainers in six countries.

Bark Busters Home Dog Training is a home-based, full-time franchise business opportunity so there is no facility for you to purchase. It is a business geared toward urban/metro areas with populations 700,000 to 1 million.

Bark Busters founders, Sylvia and Danny Wilson, have refined a method of canine communication that makes dog training and improving behavioral issues easy and accessible to all by providing this service in the owner’s home.  Sylvia and Danny are always accessible and are actively involved in growing the brand as well as in all aspects of the business.

Using the Bark Busters method, you will be helping dogs and their owners by teaching owners to effectively communicate with their dog all in their own home which is where most behavioral problems begin.  We like to say we teach owners “How to Speak Dog” all without using any harsh or physical methods to teach the dog.  This method works so well we can offer a Lifetime Guarantee of Support that we will return to a client's home free of charge if they ever need further help.

Your initial training to learn the Bark Busters method will take place at our Home Office in San Diego, California.  Once completed, you will be mentored by a senior franchisee and our Training Team.   You will also have access to the best dog training equipment to help you do your job better than any other trainer in the industry.

We are serious about keeping this great business strong for years to come.  So there is a minimum five (5) year commitment to join Bark Busters.  We will be very selective in who we bring into our organization.  We will require a resume of your work experience and education.  We'll be looking for people who are good communicators, business savvy, and not looking to retire soon or work part-time.  We want people committed to growing the business long-term.

Please take some time to submit an application to get the ball rolling. Whether it’s with Bark Busters or not, we wish you the best of luck pursuing your dream!

As dog owners for well over thirty-five years, our pets have always been special family members who bring joy and happiness to our home and those around them. When we decided to look for our own business, we did extensive research and investigated a number of service-oriented businesses. We wanted something that would be both gratifying and rewarding. We were very impressed by Bark Busters’ commitment to providing quality holistic training techniques; their unparalleled customer service and the support to the franchisees. Therefore, we decided to join the team on November 1, 2006. We have enjoyed helping customers learn the Bark Busters methods so that all "family members" can live together "peacefully". It is rewarding to provide owners with the resources that promote happiness, mutual respect, love, and quality of life for all members of the family. All of this has been very satisfying and in support of our mission!Richard and Vicki - New Haven, Connecticut
My name is Michael Konstantaras and I'm entering my fourth year as a Bark Busters trainer. I've owned several different business previously but when I became a Bark Busters I knew quickly that this was the one I'd be working for the rest of my life. As a Bark Buster, I'm completely in control of my destiny. I don't have to rely on employees, I have limited overhead, I make my own hours but most of all I LOVE what I do. Every day I'm changing people's lives with their dogs. The Bark Busters system works so well that very often I can resolve people's issues with their dogs in as little as one visit! Being a member of the Bark Busters family has also helped me along the way because I have an army of trainers to turn to for help and guidance if I need it. If you are a self-motivated person with a love of dogs than this is the profession for you. In addition to being the most rewarding thing I've ever done personally, it has been very rewarding financially as well. I'm literally "living the dream" every day :)Michael - Norwalk and Fairfield Counties, Connecticut
I have been a franchisee with Bark Busters Home Dog Training since June of 2007. I was a self-employed restaurant owner for 18 years and then self-employed in the mortgage industry for 21 years. In 2006, I told my business partner I thought the industry was going to crash and I just wasn't enjoying what I was doing any longer and that I wanted to end my working career doing something I loved. At that time I had a Cairn Terrier that was a little stinker. He got me in trouble with my neighbors and the county for his barking. I went on the internet to try to find a solution for this problem. I had been involved with dogs for many years. Showing my dogs in AKC obedience trials and in breed competition so I knew a fair amount about dog training. However, I didn’t know the behavioral part of training. While searching for training tips to help with this problem I came upon Bark Busters. This looked interesting and as I was reading about Bark Busters I saw that they were offering franchises. I was looking for a new career so the timing was perfect. I did my due diligence on the company and decided to make the commitment to join them. After almost nine years as a Bark Buster Master Trainer I can honestly say I have never regretted my decision. Every day I meet nice people/clients and great dogs. The satisfaction I get from helping people have a better relationship with their dogs and keeping dogs in homes and out of shelters is fantastic. The training I received with Bark Busters was excellent. After the first couple of lessons I did on my own I felt completely at ease, knowing that I could solve problems and make a difference in the lives of my clients and their dogs. When I walk into a situation that people think is unsolvable because there have been two or more previous trainers that have failed, I am in my element. Financially this business has also been very rewarding. Yes, it is hard work and can be challenging at times but I wouldn't change what I am doing for any other career. Lastly, I would like to say Danny and Sylvia Wilson, the CEO and COO as well as the founders of Bark Busters, are extremely dedicated to the business that they have built. They always have time to answer questions and offer guidance without hesitation. I feel extremely lucky to have them as business associates.Frank Raimondi
I became a Bark Busters Dog Behavioral Therapist/Trainer roughly 8 years ago. It is absolutely, by far, THE best decision I've ever made in my life!!! For the first time in my entire life, I know THIS is what I'm supposed to be doing... As a matter of fact, I've been so fortunate to be so busy, that I've been booked 1-2 months in advance for two years now! It's nothing short of amazing and always inspiring. I won Bark Busters' International Trainer of the Year in 2014, Bark Busters' Highest Performing Office in 2014 and Bark Busters' US Therapist/Trainer of the Year 2014. I also won Bark Busters US Therapist/Trainer of the Year back in 2010. Since I've started my business, my income has gone up exponentially each year and I actually started back when the US economy was in a free-fall. Even during that time, I grew every year... But with all being said, with all honesty, money is not my primary focus. My income is a by-product of committing my life to my passion, and that is being the best dog behavioral therapist possible. Every day I learn something new and look to improve at my craft. After the years of hard work and commitment, I've become a master at what I do. I've found my calling and I am SO grateful for the methods that were created by both Sylvia and Danny Wilson over 25 years ago in Australia. What they've created is a true masterpiece in canine communication. We can literally resolve any behavioral issue and, in most cases, immediately see dramatic results. The keys to success in this career are having exceptionally strong people skills, a passion and instinct for dogs, and experience in sales and/or running a business would be very helpful. You have to want this! If you do, your life will change forever and you will change people's and dog's lives every single day.Justin - San Diego, California
I have been a dog lover all my life, and after over 25 years in the corporate world, I knew I wanted to do something different. I started investigating dog-related businesses, and was introduced to another Bark Buster trainer in my community. After seeing what she did, I knew this was the job for me. I have a people-training background so it seemed like a natural fit. Bark Busters made it easy to get started - that’s the beauty of a franchise – it’s a proven method with training and marketing guidance provided. It’s a wonderful feeling to know that I help people keep and enjoy their dogs every day. Plus I love being my own boss and setting my own schedule. I can’t imagine doing anything else for the rest of my working years.Joanne - Tampa Bay, Florida
I was first introduced to Bark Busters in late 2006. January of 2007 I was enrolled in the new franchisee training program. This program set me up for success. I opened my doors and started working with dogs in early February. It is now January of 2016 and I have worked with over 2,300 dogs. My success is due to the simply following the franchise model and following the advice and guidance of Sylvia and Danny. This is a natural, holistic way to better communicate with dogs and the business model is equally natural and holistic.Patrick - Fort Myers, Florida
I enjoy owning a Bark Buster franchise because I not only love what I do, but am proud to be associated with a company that is honest and ethical. I appreciate the required continuing education and that our founders remain actively involved in the company. I joined in 2003 and haven’t looked back since. Kendra - Lexington, Kentucky
Having been in law enforcement most of my adult life, I was always fascinated with the use of dogs in various applications ranging from patrol, bomb and drug detection to tracking with specific breeds such as Blood Hounds. I thoroughly enjoyed working alongside these units and took every opportunity to learn how the dogs were trained and used, and knew that someday I would love to own a business working with dogs.... That was 14 years ago when I left law enforcement to pursue my dream of owning a business. I discovered Bark Busters Home Dog Training at a Franchise expo and immediately knew it was a perfect fit! I was the 7th office to open in the United States, and the very first to establish roots outside of Colorado. I felt like somewhat of a pioneer in that at the time, no one knew of Bark Busters Home Dog Training in Virginia. With a very comprehensive and thorough training program and most importantly an amazing system, I was able to quickly establish the Bark Busters brand in Northern Virginia. Since that time I am thrilled to report that I have been a top producing office each and every year and words cannot describe how deeply satisfying it is to help so many people and their dogs!Mark - Fairfax County, Virginia
Bark Busters is the world's largest, most-trusted dog training company but don't be fooled, we don't train dogs; we train the people who love them. With over 25 years of experience, we have stayed true to the simple premise that when you talk to a dog like a dog, the dog will listen. When you talk to the dog like a dominant dog, the dog will be respectful. And when the dog understands where he fits in the pack (which is not at the top) the unwanted behaviors go away. While other trainers have glommed on to devices that control behavior (prong collars, pinch collars, shock collars), Bark Busters continues to be non-physical, humane and amazingly effective without the gimmicks. We are problem solvers. So if you like a challenge, we arm you with the tools and knowledge to train the owners in canine behavior. Often it can be a fun job. But all of the time, with every lesson, it is a rewarding job, If you are passionate, self-motivated and have good people skills, Bark Busters is a wonderful franchise opportunity. The dogs are a lovely benefit of the business.Christie - Charlotte, North Carolina
My experience with Bark Busters Home Dog Training has been excellent. Since I became a franchisee in October of 2008. After thorough classroom education and hands on training I was ready to help clients in South Jersey. Whenever I have needed help with a challenging case or had a question the home office and support team were prompt and efficient in responding. Our customer support literature and techniques are second to none. It is a pleasure to walk into a client’s home knowing you can help them with their canine companion. I love the fact that I can work from my home and minimal inventory is necessary to operate my business.Kurt - South Jersey, NJ
Being your own boss. Making your own hours AND working with dogs. Sounds like a dream job. Right? After working on Wall Street for over nine years, I finally found something I could love. Bark Busters gave me an amazing opportunity help people and their dogs and make a great career doing it. In some extreme cases I have even saved a dog from losing his home and his life. Becoming a Bark Buster is definitely the best decision I have ever made in my career.Robert - Brooklyn/Staten Island, NY
I love owning and operating my own business! I purchased a franchise nearly 10 years ago. With Bark Busters my work and my passion is one and the same-dogs! The satisfaction of helping people enhance the bond with their dogs. Rewarding work with the dogs, support and training from Bark Busters, and the freedom to be my own boss. It's been a very rewarding and successful endeavor.Lynne - Minneapolis, Minnesota
I’ve been a Bark Buster for 8 1/2 years. I love having my own business, making my own hours, being my own boss. I love the feeling of security I have knowing that if I ever have a hard case, or need advice I have all my fellow Bark Busters and the founders of the company to help me. I love that we bounce ideas off one another to come up with the best solution to a problem behavior. I love hearing from my clients after a lesson say, "Where is my dog? This is not my dog, she is behaving and listening to me!" I hear this time and time again. Bark Busters has the right formula to change the dynamics of the household when first it was chaotic due to lack of communication between caregiver and their dog(s) to a dynamic of great communication where everyone is happy.Alison - Charlottesville, VA
We purchased our Bark Busters franchise in 2011. From the beginning we loved the support from fellow franchisees and the challenges and rewards of running our own small business. The founders, Danny and Sylvia Wilson, are very energetic, hands on and accessible to the franchisees. We love the rewards of working together while helping dogs and their "people" each and every day. This is a dream job and we would do it again in a minute!Joe and Marci - Tucson, Arizona
At age 52, we moved home, moved country and moved jobs, to take on the Naples Franchise of Bark Busters USA. Despite the timing, in terms of the recession, being awful, the business after making a loss in its first year (as most new businesses do) has recorded profits every year since, with last year again seeing us generate a six-figure turnover. But most of all, it has been a lot of fun, and hugely satisfying. Getting inside a dog’s head, and changing its behavior benefits the dog, its owner, and indeed the whole community. We are familiar with other dog training programs and methods, and none of them – including those featured on TV – come even close to working as effectively as we do. Joining Bark Busters has given us access to the world’s greatest dog training system without question, and if you like dogs, enjoy choosing your working hours and don’t seek the burden of having to employ staff, then this should be a great fit for you.Colin and June - Naples, Florida
My wife Cathy and I joined Bark Busters in 2003 and it was a wonderful decision for us. We were immediately made to feel we were a welcome addition to the Bark Busters "family" and that feeling has never left us. We decided on Bark Busters because it was something we could do together that we both felt was worthwhile; reducing the stress in our clients’ lives and helping dogs stay with their human families. Thirteen years later we still love working with families and helping them have great relationships with their dogs and we still know we made the right decision for us.Jeff - Tampa, Florida
A few years back I was in the market for a small business and consider myself incredibly lucky to have found Bark Busters. I make my own schedule, am not tied to a location and I truly get out of it what I put in. I relish the independence I get with having my own business while still having an entire community's experience upon which to draw and offer camaraderie. Whether you need guidance on the business side or training side, there is always a resource for you. I truly love what I do now and feel like most days I am really making a difference with people; not to mention the relief I can offer the stressed out dogs!Sarah - Manhattan, NY
Thirteen years ago, I went from being one of many executives in a large company to being my own boss. The icing on the cake was I could work with dogs! There are so many families struggling to have a well-behaved dog and I can help them! Not only is my effort uplifting, but it is financially rewarding. Within two years, I was earning a healthy 6-figures and I didn't have to go to staff meetings any more. I set my own schedule, take off when it please me and earn according to my work effort. It's a pleasure having such satisfying career and the company is always ready to help me succeed.Mark - Westchester County, NY
I bought my Bark Busters franchise over ten years ago and it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I was hooked from the moment a Bark Busters trainer came to my home and conducted a lesson with me and my dog. What could be better than a job that allows you to combine your passion, independence, the opportunity to help others and the ability to make money at it? With pet ownership and spending on pets continually rising, this is also an exciting and growing field. I love my job!David -Seattle, Washington
Bark Busters is a wonderful business opportunity! We first learned of Bark Busters Home Dog Training during the summer of 2003. A friend had just opened a Bark Busters office in Tampa and raved about the humane, natural dog training methods and their effectiveness. We were impressed with Bark Busters' mission to save dogs from being mistreated and euthanized. So we joined the Bark Busters global network of licensed dog behavioral therapists and dog trainers, went through an extensive training program and have now worked with more than a thousand dogs and their owners! The company is run by dog training experts who are successful, ethical business owners. They are committed to helping franchises achieve their goals. We have the best training system in the world and many happy and thankful clients. We are so glad to have found Bark Busters. It has been a perfect fit for us and we plan on continuing to be Bark Busters for many years to come!"Al and Lisa -Portland, Oregon
