When we decided to look for our own business, we did extensive research and investigated a number of service-oriented businesses. We wanted something that would be both gratifying and rewarding. Therefore, we decided to join the team on November 1, 2006. We have enjoyed helping customers learn the Bark Busters methods so that all "family members" can live together "peacefully". My name is Michael Konstantaras and I'm entering my fourth year as a Bark Busters trainer. I've owned several different business previously but when I became a Bark Busters I knew quickly that this was the one I'd be working for the rest of my life. As a Bark Buster, I'm completely in control of my destiny. I don't have to rely on employees, I have limited overhead, I make my own hours but most of all I LOVE what I do. Every day I'm changing people's lives with their dogs. The Bark Busters system works so well that very often I can resolve people's issues with their dogs in as little as one visit! I have been a franchisee with Bark Busters Home Dog Training since June of 2007. I was a self-employed restaurant owner for 18 years and then self-employed in the mortgage industry for 21 years. In 2006, I told my business partner I thought the industry was going to crash and I just wasn't enjoying what I was doing any longer and that I wanted to end my working career doing something I loved. At that time I had a Cairn Terrier that was a little stinker. He got me in trouble with my neighbors and the county for his barking. I went on the internet to try to find a solution for this problem. I had been involved with dogs for many years. Showing my dogs in AKC obedience trials and in breed competition so I knew a fair amount about dog training. However, I didn’t know the behavioral part of training. While searching for training tips to help with this problem I came upon Bark Busters. This looked interesting and as I was reading about Bark Busters I saw that they were offering franchises. I was looking for a new career so the timing was perfect. I did my due diligence on the company and decided to make the commitment to join them. After almost nine years as a Bark Buster Master Trainer I can honestly say I have never regretted my decision. Every day I meet nice people/clients and great dogs. The satisfaction I get from helping people have a better relationship with their dogs and keeping dogs in homes and out of shelters is fantastic. The training I received with Bark Busters was excellent. After the first couple of lessons I did on my own I felt completely at ease, knowing that I could solve problems and make a difference in the lives of my clients and their dogs. When I walk into a situation that people think is unsolvable because there have been two or more previous trainers that have failed, I am in my element. Financially this business has also been very rewarding. Yes, it is hard work and can be challenging at times but I wouldn't change what I am doing for any other career. Lastly, I would like to say Danny and Sylvia Wilson, the CEO and COO as well as the founders of Bark Busters, are extremely dedicated to the business that they have built. I became a Bark Busters Dog Behavioral Therapist/Trainer roughly 8 years ago. It is absolutely, by far, THE best decision I've ever made in my life!!! For the first time in my entire life, I know THIS is what I'm supposed to be doing... Having been in law enforcement most of my adult life, I was always fascinated with the use of dogs in various applications ranging from patrol, bomb and drug detection to tracking with specific breeds such as Blood Hounds.
