What are Your Franchising Goals?
When you think about goals, you likely think about some of your life’s biggest accomplishments. Maybe your goals have involved making a big purchase, a graduation day or level of certificate – any big step in life that takes time and effort – actually reaching said step can be considered a goal. You should be proud, of course!
But now it’s time to look toward the future and what your next goals might be. What do you have to reach toward with your business ownership? What dreams do you have?
Today is all about dreaming. So let’s go big!
You want to be a franchisee, after all, so let’s make it happen!
If you could have any type of franchise? Own any type of business, what would it be? What would you do each day? How big would you become? What type of growth would you see?
Realistically, it’s time to look at what you want vs. where you’re at now, and to find that available growth. That’s your goal – the end game is where you want to be.
Another approach is to look at your personal life and write out what wishes you have. Do you want more family time? More disposable income? Do you want the freedom of being a franchisee so you can take days off without consequence? (While still planning ahead, obviously!) Owning your own business is all about professional goals, but that doesn’t mean you won’t have several personal goals to reach along the way, too.
In fact, they are one in the same. If you can achieve your professional goals but aren’t happy personally, the combination will never work. The opposite is true, too – your professional life needs to make you happy. You have to create a jive in both areas for a formula that works year after year. Otherwise you will always be putting too much pressure on one side over the other. The balance will crack.
Moving Forward with Your Business Goals
Oftentimes people decide to open a franchise for very specific reasons – they didn’t like their career, they wanted the freedom for monetary growth, they wanted out of the corporate world, and so on. All of these and more are great reasons to find professional freedom and creativity as an entrepreneur.
But you also need goals to keep your momentum going.
Define – really define – what you want out of your job and your personal life. In an ideal setting, if you could have it all, how would your life look?
That’s your goal. Write it down.
If you’re a visual person, create a print out or framed chart that you can reference every time you walk into your office. It will serve as constant motivation to work hard and turn that “what if” into your status quo. You can take other approaches, too, like creating a daily ritual or setting a personal reward that you’ll earn once your goals have been reached.
There are many ways to approach daily reminders, the key is to create your franchise future so you know where you want to be with your brand.
In fact, the most successful franchisees set goals. It’s how they keep striving each day for further growth and greater business standings. Establish whatever it might be that you want for your future, then go out and make it happen!
